What does a typical image package cost?
We charge $300 per arch (Maxilla or Mandible) and $450 for a total Head and Neck Scan. Special formatting, such as NOBELGUIDE and SimPlant studies and Radiology reports are additional fees. Please refer to our fee schedule.

Is the cost covered by insurance?
Many medical insurers do cover the Cone Beam CT scans. All depends on the carrier. We will try to maximize coverage for the patients, but it is not a guarantee.

What are the advantages of using this type of scan and image?
Anatomy we used to guess at what is now visible. Practicing with image-guided technology gives entirely new vision and accuracy to diagnosis and treatment.

How fast and by what means are the images shared with the referring doctor?
A CD containing images in DICOM format, is mailed to the patient’s referring Physician, Dentist, and Dental specialist within a few days of the scan being taken.

How long of a time would a patient typically have to spend at NWI 3D imaging to have images taken?
Scans take no more than five minutes, total. We do everything possible to ensure minimal wait time in our office. Also, our i-CAT scan is in an open environment.

Does your imaging ever detect unexpected pathology in a patient?
Unrelated findings and pathology seen in scans are often commonplace. Therefore, we recommend a full radiology report formulated by a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist on every scan taken. The radiology report has to be requested by the referring physician, dentist and dental specialist.
